Specialist Outpatient Clinic
Introduction
The specialist outpatient clinic serves patients with complex, serious and uncommon diseases requiring multidisciplinary management from birth to 18 years of age. We strive to provide professional, children-centred and family-friendly services to create a better patient experience.
Each specialty has its designated clinic session. For some complex conditions (e.g. cleft lip / palate, brain tumors, inflammatory bowel diseases, disorders of sexual differentiation), there are multidisciplinary clinic sessions to provide one-stop integrated care by relevant doctors, nurses and allied health professionals, covering diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and long-term follow-up.
We arrange different formats of patient education to help patients and carers better understand their conditions and communicate effectively with healthcare staff. We also offer guidance on self-care to enhance clinical outcome and recovery, strengthen disease management and improve quality of life. Apart from that, we collaborate with non-government organizations to provide support and experience sharing for patient families.
