Introduction

Our clinical psychologists provide psychological assessment and intervention for inpatients and outpatients. We collaborate with other healthcare professionals in HKCH in providing services that are tailored to the needs of children and their families. We also participate in research related to our clinical services.

Scope of Services

Assessment of cognitive and social-emotional functioning
Psychosocial assessment as part of an overall evaluation of suitability for a specific procedure or surgery
Facilitating illness-related decision making and problem-solving
Enhancing adherence to treatment regimens
Management of emotional distress and behavioral problems
Pain management
Stress management for caregivers
Building resilience in the face of illness
