Boosting vaccination efforts

Healthcare team providing vaccination service
▲Our staff worked with various parties to provide one-stop vaccination service for children with special needs.

Increasing COVID-19 vaccination coverage can enhance population immunity and help contain the pandemic. HKCH plays its part to promote vaccination in the hospital and the community.

Vaccinating children with special needs

Earlier, HKCH provided vaccination service at the Specialist Outpatient Clinic to students from three special schools. Vaccination is important as it could be hard for them to comply with precautionary measures.

As these children are usually sensitive and some are on multiple medications, extra care was required. Doctors and nurses would first assess their condition to tell whether they were suitable for vaccination. Sufficient manpower was also arranged for briefing parents, injecting, monitoring and handling emergencies.

Parents appreciated the professional effort of our staff which made vaccination possible for their children.

Doctor consultation before vaccination
▲Before vaccination, doctors reviewed the children’s medical records, conducted assessment, and answered parents’ enquiries.

Nurses administering vaccine
▲Besides giving children the shot, our experienced nurses helped comfort them and even offered candies as reward.

Get a jab to win a prize

To thank and encourage colleagues for getting vaccinated, the hospital launched two rounds of lucky draw with attractive prizes, including hotel packages, dining vouchers, theme park tickets and cash.
