Hong Kong Children's Hospital Charitable Foundation

The HKCH Charitable Foundation was established in 2019 to receive donations from the community to benefit the hospital and its work. Its Board of Trustees consists of seven members who oversee the development direction of the Foundation, fundraising activities, acceptance of donations, funds allocation and progress monitoring of funded projects.

I have high hopes for the development of the Foundation. I believe philanthropists today wish to make a direct impact with their donations. The mission of the HKCH is to build a centre of excellence in paediatrics and with its good track record over the past four years, I hope the Foundation can find many donors who would provide sustainable funding to implement all its defined initiatives.
Mr John Lee, Chairman

HKCH takes on the most challenging sick children cases. The kind doctors are very good at identifying families which do not have sufficient means to support the patients, and refer them to social workers and the Foundation. Your generous donation, no matter how much, helps not only the children but also their whole family. Your money is being professionally managed by the Board. We ensure every dollar is well used.

Children are our future. Sadly, some suffer from serious diseases and require special and intensive treatment and care. We need donation support to enable the hospital to achieve excellence in every aspect and prepare for the future.

My mission of joining the Foundation is to help ensure that the hospital provides the best possible care for children, including access to the latest medical technology and treatments. I hope to win the support of more caring people and help the hospital connect with relevant organizations, businesses and individuals.

HKCH is a teaching as well as a tertiary hospital that has unique needs, which might not be the same as for other HA hospitals. The vision of the Foundation is to establish a solid ground for the HKCH to grow to achieve what it is built to perform. Donation is for the HKCH to dedicate management of children, families and staff especially for diseases which are serious and demand multi-disciplinary concerted efforts to treat. High technology is required and hence, donations will help the HKCH to advance in a faster pace.

I wish to contribute my strengths in corporate investment and management to ensure the Foundation could support the long-term development of the hospital so that our next generation could enjoy top healthcare. Through my network, I will also promote the work of HKCH to various partners to mobilize their resources for supporting us.

From the experience of successful children's hospitals worldwide, in addition to regular government funding, generous donations from commercial organizations and philanthropists can provide a more comprehensive and holistic care to children with serious or uncommon diseases. Our Foundation matches the kind offers of commercial organizations and philanthropists with families in need to give them a helping hand during the difficult times.
