Research Areas

  • Management of complex neonatal conditions, with a primary focus on surgical neonates (including congenital diaphragmatic hernia, necrotising enterocolitis), and severe congenital malformations
  • Integration of genomic medicine for rare disease diagnostics
  • Neonatal pain management, prioritizing the study of alternative analgesics to reduce opioid usage post-operatively
  • We participate in international study groups related to neonatal kidney health, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and Point-Of-Care-Ultrasound (POCUS)
  • We promote data-driven quality improvement, and benchmark with international registries such as the CHNN (Chinese Neonatal Network) and ANZNN (the Australian and New Zealand Neonatal Network)
