I would like to show my appreciation to and commend Ms    for her outstanding performance.

My son,   , had been treated at Queen Mary Hospital and subsequently at Hong Kong Children's Hospital from 2018 till now. Throughout these few years, I have never met a nicer '姐姐' than her.

   had his bone marrow transplant (BMT) in Ward 5E in       and was transferred to Ward 5N in   . Due to complications from the BMT,    had severe diarrhea requiring change of diapers up to almost 15 times a day (at the worst point).

Seeing how busy and exhausted I was changing   's diapers till the early hours of the morning, she helps me take out his soiled pajamas, brings in extra urine bottles into our room and water-proof sheets to line the bed even without my asking, though this is my responsibility as   's main carer. She has   's interests at heart and brings in creams for me to clean and protect   's bottom. She waits patiently for    to wake up to be weighed insisting instead of rushing to wake him (to meet her target). This is no mean feat as    sleeps almost the entire day due to exhaustion from his frequent diarrhea.

To summarise her key attributes, Ms   :

• - Has lots of initiative
• - Does her job efficiently and effectively without ever mentioning 'I was told by nurses/doctors to do it'
• - Is humble (says she is just doing her job and does not need to be commended for it)
• - Kind-hearted
• - Carries herself well in a polite and respectable manner
• - Makes patients and carers feel very comfortable in her presence

HK Children's Hospital, especially the carers and kids in Ward 5N, are truly fortunate to have her as their employee. She brings us much comfort with her kindness and efficiency. I hope her performance is well recognized by her supervisor, employer and may she be a shining example to her fellow colleague by over-delivering on the job. Please ensure that my appreciate and commendation letter is passed on to the relevant department.
