About Hong Kong Breast Milk Bank

The Hong Kong Breast Milk Bank (HKBMB) is set up following the plan of the HKSAR Government to provide safe donor breast milk for high-risk babies when their own mothers’ breast milk is unavailable or insufficient, especially to minimise the chance of serious illness in premature or severely-ill babies.

HKBMB is a service under the Hospital Authority. Located at the Hong Kong Children’s Hospital, it coordinates the screening, collection, storage, processing and distribution of donor breast milk, ensures its the quality and safety, and monitors its inventory.
