Speech Therapy
Introduction
Our speech therapists evaluate and treat children with communication and swallowing problems arising from various conditions, syndromes and diseases. We also work closely with family members and provide carer education and counselling.
Scope of Services
We provide assessment and intervention for children with:
Feeding and swallowing difficulties
- Oropharyngeal dysphagia
- Behavioural feeding problems
Speech disorders
- Cleft speech
- Deaf speech
- Dysarthria
- Dysfluency
- Dyspraxia
- Misarticulation
- Resonance problem
- Tracheostomy speech
Language disorders
- Dysphasia
- Mutism
Voice disorder
Oromotor dysfunction
We conduct assessment and provide therapy in individual or group basis in both inpatient and outpatient settings. If clinically indicated, instrumental assessment (e.g. fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing and videofluoroscopic swallowing study)
will be carried out.
We collaborate with various clinical specialties such as cardiology, surgery, oncology and intensive care units through clinical rounds and multi-disciplinary clinics, when need for communication and swallowing management arises.
We also actively participate in related clinical research.
