Introduction
Being the tertiary paediatric cardiac referral centre in Hong Kong, the Cardiology Centre at Hong Kong Children's Hospital provides a full range of cardiology services for children with congenital and acquired heart diseases. We are the only centre under the Hospital Authority to deliver paediatric extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and ventricular assist device programmes.
We strive to be the centre of excellence in paediatic cardiology to provide the best cardiac care for children and their families through science and humanities. Our missions are:

- To nurture paediatric cardiology healthcare professionals through staff training and continuous education
- To innovate and to translate research findings to benefit children with heart diseases
- To establish community partnership to promote heart health in healthy children and care of children with paediatric heart diseases
Scope of Services
- Comprehensive tertiary paediatric cardiology service for children with congenital and acquired heart diseases in in-patient, intensive care, out-patient, ambulatory and outreach settings.
- Diagnostic services including echocardiography, diagnostic catheterization, cardiac computed tomography scan, cardiac magnetic resonance, electrophysiological studies for arrhythmias, radionuclide studies, and cardiorespiratory function test.
- Therapeutic interventions including cardiac surgery, catheter intervention, catheter ablation for cardiac arrhythmias and implantation of cardiac electronic device.
- Postoperative intensive care of paediatric patients after cardiac surgery and mechanical circulatory support including extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and ventricular assist device, in collaboration with cardiothoracic surgeons.
- Collaboration with community partners, including the Children's Heart Foundation and others to provide support to paediatric cardiac patients and their families.
