Physiotherapy
Introduction
Physiotherapy is an essential health care profession in the process of patient rehabilitation, as it helps individuals and population develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout the lifespan.
Physiotherapists at HKCH are well-trained to work with babies, children and adolescents with specialized knowledge in child development and motion analysis. We are also equipped with rich experience in handling childhood disabilities and their special needs.
Our mission is to serve our needy children with evidence-based physical and functional rehabilitation, with provision of high quality patient and family-centred assessment and tailor-made management programmes, so as to maximize the functions of the children and empower them to have a healthy and energetic life.
The Physiotherapy team at HKCH provides services at inpatient, ambulatory, outpatient and outreach settings. As a multidisciplinary team member, our physiotherapists collaborate with other healthcare professionals in patient evaluation, intervention goal establishment, treatment delivery, patient education and research.
