1. Neonatal service at HKCH caters for:
   • Neonates diagnosed or suspected to have surgical conditions
   • Neonates with complex, uncommon medical or genetic conditions requiring paediatric subspecialty inputs and multidisciplinary care
   • Neonates with cleft lip and / or palate
   • Neonates screened positive by universal newborn screening programme for inborn errors of metabolism, severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) and spinal muscular atrophy
2. Referral for other indications or neonates with surgical conditions from other HA units or private sector will be considered individually
3. Admission criteria to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit / Special Care Baby Unit:
   • corrected age ≤ 28 days OR body weight ≤ 4kg
   • patients from NICU/SCBU of other hospitals

• For urgent referral or consultation, please call 5741 3349 (24 hours neonatal on-call)
• For referral of neonates with cleft lip and / or palate, please call 5741 3349 (24 hours neonatal on-call) and fax the specified referral form to Ward 4E at 2459 9081 (please call 3513 3543 to alert and confirm receipt)
